AARON BOWDEN
Aaron Bowden is relatively new to Wild Eyes Productions and the
world of documentary filmmaking, but he has more than seven years of
experience as a nonfiction storyteller.
Aaron began his career as a print journalist, filing stories for the
Tallahassee Democrat while still an undergraduate at Florida State
University. One piece chronicled its author's championship-clinching
run through a nationwide videogame football contest.
More serious journalism followed at the Concord Monitor, where in
two years as a staff writer, Aaron covered subjects big (the 2000
New Hampshire presidential primary) and small (a profile of the
12-year-old state Monopoly champion). Following in the George
Plimpton spirit of participatory journalism, Aaron lost to every
member of the high school state championship tennis team, nearly
broke his neck for a feature on street luge and braved a fear of
heights to stand atop the forehead of the Old Man of the Mountain -
New Hampshire's since-destroyed state landmark. Two stories -- the
tale of an eccentric businessman who built a peculiar New England
theme park called Storyland, and a profile of a musician who
composed thousands of contra dance tunes -- were anthologized.
